Aukey EP-B40 Latitude wireless headphones feature a comfortable, lightweight design, as well as three sizes of eartips so you can choose the perfect fit. Three pairs of ear hooks are also included and do a great job of keeping the earbuds in place when you are running or exercising.
Since the inline remote is on one side of the band, it is slightly heavier than the other side. This resulted in the left earbud coming loose in my ear from time to time, but only when I was running.
Choosing a better fitting pair of eartips would probably remedy this problem. With other activities such as walking and using the elliptical, I had no problems whatsoever.
Magnets on each of the earbuds snap together, allowing you to wear your earbuds like a necklace when not in use. This keeps them from accidently falling off when not being worn.
This pair of wireless earbuds is also well built and has an IPX4 water resistance rating. This means they are sweatproof and weatherproof.
Sweat, rain, and splashing water will not harm your earbuds. Internal nano coating also further protects the earbuds from sweat and external moisture.
Aukey Latitude Wireless Headphones feature a stable and reliable Bluetooth connection with a ten meter distance. Pairing is easy and once the device is paired, repairing is simple as well.
Latitudes also offer aptX technology via Bluetooth 4.1 which provides lower latency and improved sound quality compared to standard Bluetooth. Please note that you will have to have an aptX compatible device in order to take advantage of this feature.
With the Latitude headphones you can easily connect to two devices simultaneously. This is great if you want to listen to music on one device and then take a call on your smartphone.
Another great feature is the three built in EQ sound signatures. You can easily toggle through them to find the one that best fits your personal tastes. The three profiles include balanced, treble boost, and bass boost. If you find there isn’t enough bass for your needs, the bass boost preset will be useful.
The noise isolation on these headphones is also impressive. With the right eartips, they do a great job of reducing outside noise. They’re perfect for listening in noisy environments or in places like the gym where you are competing with an external speaker system. With these in your ears, you won’t have to turn up your music to drown out the outside world.
They also feature minimal headphone leakage. This is a great feature if you are somewhere quiet where the sound of your earbuds might disturb others.
A built in microphone, in line volume control, and multi-function button allow you to adjust volume, manage audio playback, and take and make calls. The buttons are easy to reach and I didn’t have any trouble with them once I got the hang of it.
A long battery life means that you can listen to up to eight hours of uninterrupted audio before you have to charge. Once the earbuds need charging, simply insert the included micro USB cable and charging is complete in about 1.5 hours.
How good do Aukey Latitude Sound?
Aukey Latitude wireless Bluetooth earbuds are so inexpensive it’s really not fair to compare them to high end audiophile headphones. Still, the Latitude used in this review held up well and was an improvement over the cheap earbuds that come with devices.
They don’t have an amazingly flat sound, but they don’t sound bad either. For the price, they actually sound really good.
There’s not an amazing amount of bass but the bass is certainly there. The highs are not sibilant, but are not the most vivid and crisp I’ve heard either. The bottom line is that for the price you really can’t go wrong.
Our Verdict on Aukey Latitude
Considering the Aukey Latitude is a set of wireless Bluetooth earbuds for twenty five dollars, there’s really not a lot of bad things you can say about them. They are well built for the price, are incredibly comfortable to wear, feature a stable and easy to pair Bluetooth connection, and offer additional features such as a built in mic, inline remote, and excellent outside noise attenuation.
While they don’t sound as good as pairs in the $50-100 or higher range, I wouldn’t expect them too. If you’re looking for a budget pair of wireless Bluetooth earbuds, you really can’t go wrong.
They’re also a great choice for gym use as they give you the freedom of movement you need and are IPX4 weather resistant and sweat proof.
It’s actually amazing that this much technology can be packed into a set of earbuds this inexpensive. This would have been unheard of even a few years ago.
I recommend this set for anyone who wants the freedom of wireless Bluetooth without the high cost.
