With metal construction, comfortable fit, and extra features such as a built in mic and inline remote, the Betron YSM1000 is a great earbud at a fantastic price. Its sound quality rivals that of more expensive earbuds, with plenty of low end, vivid mids, and crisp, clear highs.

Most people will find the Betron YSM1000 comfortable to wear. A large selection of eartips is included so you can choose the perfect fit for your needs. There are also earbuds made of both silicon and memory foam so you can use whichever works best for your needs.
I could see the YSM1000 not fitting some people with smaller ears, as many headphones with similar designs often do not fit people with small ears. Still, for most, they will stay in your ears well and fit great, provided you take the time to choose the right sized eartips.
Whether you use silicon or memory foam eartips is a personal choice. For my ears, the memory foam seems to give better passive noise isolation while the silicon is a bit more comfortable.
I also like they come with a nice carrying pouch to protect your earphones when not in use. Their portable size makes them ideal for on the go use, so it’s great that there is a case to put them in while traveling.
This earbud is made with durable metal, which is somewhat surprising considering its low price; most earbuds in this range are made entirely of plastic. There is also gold plating which prevents corrosion and oxidation, another plus.
A tangle free cable is also included, something I wish all earbuds had.
I love knowing that I can take these to the gym and get started on my workout without spending ten minutes untangling the cable.
The cable seems well made as well—this is important as most damage to earbuds comes from the cable part of the design. The connections look solid as well, both at the jack and where the headphones connect to the wires. There are more durable designs out there but they cost much more. For the price you spend this seems to be a well-built pair of earbuds.
Betron YSM1000 Features
For a wired earbud at this low of a price, I was surprised to find the Betron YSM1000 comes with a built in microphone and an inline remote. Most headphones in this price range are just your basic earbuds and don’t come with any additional features.
With the built in microphone you can make and receive calls, as well as give commands to your smartphone. With the inline remote you can easily adjust volume, skip to the previous or next track, as well as play and pause music.
How do the Betron YSM1000 Sound?
Considering the incredibly low price, I honestly wasn’t expecting much in terms of sound; but I was pleasantly surprised. The bass is powerful and punchy with a sound that is somewhat hyped but not overly so. This makes them a good set for listening to lots of different types of music, as well as audiobooks and podcasts.
The mids are also well represented, with a tonality that is clear and not muddy. Likewise, the highs are clear and crisp, without the sibilance that often plagues inexpensive earbuds. There’s also plenty of volume on tap. This, plus the effective passive noise isolation, means you won’t have to worry about outside noise overpowering your headphones.
Finding the right fit really is essential for bass response. The better the seal the earbuds make in your ears, the more bass you will get. This is also true of passive noise isolation. With a good fit, the Betron YSM1000 does a great job of attenuating outside noise.
This isn’t active noise cancellation, but passive noise isolation in which the design and fit of the earbud physically reduce outside noise. I also like that there is very little leakage out of the headphones. If you’re working in a quiet area where sound coming from your earbuds might disturb others, this pair is a great choice.
Our Verdict on Betron YSM1000
Considering that replacement earbuds for your device cost about the same, or more than the Betron YSM1000, these earbuds are more than worth the price. In addition to better overall sound quality, you also get a built in mic and inline controls. If you’re on a tight budget and need a good set of earbuds for on the go use, gym use, or just as a spare set of earbuds to keep with you, these are a great choice.
While they are wired, I found that the cable didn’t get in the way and wasn’t nearly as annoying as with some of the thin wired, tangle prone earbuds I have tried. While you can buy an affordable pair of wireless earbuds for about double the price, these sound better to my ears than any cheaper wireless pair I have reviewed. This is likely a result of the loss of dynamics and slight change in sound that results from Bluetooth connections.
I also like that the Betron YSM1000 sounds good on a wide variety of audio content —whether it be rock, pop, dance, audiobook, or podcast. This made them enjoyable to review.
Overall, this is an impressive headphone for the price, with a sound that is fun to listen to even though it is not necessary accurate or flat. This is not an audiophile earbud, but it’s not designed to be. It’s designed to be an affordable, good sounding, well-made earbud for daily use; and in this it succeeds.
