Cowin E8 Comfort

Cowin E8 headphones feature an over ear design which wraps comfortably around your ears. The earpads are thick, cushiony, and lightweight. You can rotate the earcups 90 degrees to adjust the fit. The headband is also well padded and comfortable to wear. In addition, the earcups are detachable and connect magnetically. This makes them easy to clean and replace if they wear out.

This is one of the more comfortable over ear Bluetooth headphones I have tried.

The only issue with them in terms of comfort would be if you use these headphones for exercise or running outside when it’s hot. I could see the large headphones and well-padded ear cushions becoming uncomfortable when the temperature gets high.

Durability

The E8 is well made and designed for on the go use. Impact resistant materials and corrosion resistant stainless steel parts make them able to keep up with on the go lifestyles. They also come with a handy case for storing your headphones when not in use.

Cowin E8 Features

COWIN E8 Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth HeadphonesCowin E8s are feature packed and come with the tools you need to enjoy music wherever you go. First, they come with a stable Bluetooth 4.0 connection which is easy to pair to your favorite devices. The connection has a range of 10 meters and works well without dropouts.

Perhaps its best feature is the built in active noise cancellation circuitry. Four noise isolating microphones provide superior rejection of constant noise. It is especially effective in reducing plane noise, busy street noise, and lower pitched ambient sounds.

While noise cancelling headphones cannot completely isolate you from the outside world, the Cowin E8 used in this review did a great job of reducing noise to the point that I could listen to music comfortably at a low level. They also excelled in reducing noise during my commute.

A built in mic is also included with an HD voice system which gives you unparalleled quality and clarity. Even if it’s noisy outside, your voice will come through clearly to the person on the other end of the call. You can take calls without taking off your headphones and easily switch between making calls and listening to your favorite music.

The built in mic can also be used to give commands to your smartphone without taking your headphones off your head.

The battery on the Cowin E8 gives you about 20 hours of power per charge with active noise cancelling on. When it’s time to recharge, simply insert the included micro USB cable and charging is complete in about 2 hours.

Onboard controls allow you to make and receive calls, adjust volume, and skip/rewind songs. The buttons are easy to reach and accessible when you have the headphones on. Getting the feel for them takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get a feel for them they become easy to navigate.

You can also use the Cowin E8 as a wired headphone. This is a great feature to have when your battery is low or if you want to save the battery power you have left. A 3.5mm aux cable is included.

Cowin E8 Sound

The Cowin E8 features 45mm drivers which deliver plenty of power and volume. There is also plenty of bass on tap, with lot of low frequency clarity.

I especially like the midrange in this headphone which is clean, clear, and detailed. It’s the type of midrange tonality that makes it great for lots of different types of music, as well as podcasts and audio books. Regardless of the content I listened to during my review, the E8 performed well.

The highs are clear and distinct as well. They don’t sound brittle or sibilant to my ears. Overall, this is a great sounding set of headphones.

The Bluetooth connection and active noise circuitry has an effect on the sound, but in a small way. If ultimate accuracy is your goal, then go with a pair of wired audiophile headphones. However, if you are looking for a great sounding set of headphones with wireless Bluetooth connectivity, active noise cancelling circuitry, and other additional features, you would be hard pressed to find a better headphone for the price.

Our Verdict on Cowin E8 Headphones

Although not as well known as other headphone brands on the market, the Cowin E8 has lots of great features, excellent sound quality, durable design, and wearing comfort, these are a great overall bluetooth headphone, especially considering its price. It’s a great on the go headphone and is ideal for just about any situation.

They’re great on noisy streets, when flying, riding on a train, or during your daily commute. Plus, you can make calls without taking them off and rest easy knowing your voice will come through clean and clear.
