MPOW Thor Bluetooth headphones are very popular. With an under $50 headphone price tag, the freedom of wireless Bluetooth, good build quality, good sound quality for the price, and additional features such as a built in mic for taking calls, it’s easy to see why.

Most importantly, this headphone gives you a reliable, easy to pair Bluetooth connection with a long battery life and easy recharge. Check out this review of the MPOW Thor and see why they are among the most popular entry level Bluetooth headphones on the market today.

Pros: Freedom of wireless Bluetooth; long battery life; easy to set up and pair; good sound for the price; can be used wired; built in mic; comfortable to wear.

The MPOW Thor is a comfortable set of headphones to wear. The adjustable headband is well padded and made of soft, comfortable material.

The earcups are also well padded, with soft memory foam that is wrapped with protein leather, a product designed to emulate skin texture.

The Thor headphones are also lightweight at only 6.56 oz. I was especially impressed with the fit of the headphones, tight and sturdy without being uncomfortable. I also liked the foldable design which makes them easy to store when not in use.

The MPOW Thor is made with a hard plastic shell that feels sturdy and durable. I have certainly tried headphones in this price range that weren’t built nearly as well.

They will certainly stand up to everyday use such as getting bumped, being tossed into a gym bag, etc.

Overall, they seem to be as, or perhaps a bit more durable, than most Bluetooth headphones in the upper entry level price range.

In terms of features, there is much to like about the MPOW Thor. Perhaps most importantly, it offers a stable Bluetooth connection with a distance of 33 feet, allowing the freedom of movement only wireless can provide. Pairing was easy and I was connected to my device in seconds.

Battery life is excellent as well, with 8 hours of continual use before charging is required. When it’s time to recharge, use the included micro USB cable for a quick and easy charge. If battery power runs out, you can connect the included aux cable and use the Thor as a normal wired headphone. This is a great feature for people like me who often forget to charge their devices.

A built in mic is also included, allowing you to take calls and give voice commands to your smartphone. The mic is of good quality and allows those on the other end of the call to hear you clearly.

Buttons on the headphones allow you to accept and end calls without reaching for your phone. You can also turn the headphones on and off, adjust volume, and skip tracks with the multipurpose button. The mic only works in wireless mode, however. When the 3.5 mm aux cable is connected, the headphones run without power and work like a standard set of wired headphones.

A CSR chip and Bluetooth 4.0 technology allow for lower latency, higher transmission speeds, and better audio quality. Plus, 40mm drivers provide powerful sound with plenty of volume.

How do Mpow Thor Headphones Sound?

When evaluating the sound of a headphone in this price range, it is important to view it in the context of its price range. Of course, the MPOW Thor is not going to compare with the sound quality of a higher level audiophile pair of headphones.

It doesn’t have the clean, powerful bass of higher end Bose or Sennheiser headphones I have reviewed. The bass is a bit on the muddy side with some material and is certainly not as clean and clear as on some of the higher end headphones I have reviewed. Still, for the price, the sound is pretty good overall.

The mids and highs are also good for the price. I don’t hear the vivid detailed midrange of an audiophile headphone or the crisp high end clarity, but listening to music through these headphones is still enjoyable.

Many people, myself included, are willing to sacrifice a little in terms of audio quality to gain the freedom of movement Bluetooth provides. As long as you don’t expect something unrealistic in terms of sound quality, the MPOW Thor headphones will more than satisfy the needs of those looking for a good set of budget Bluetooth headphones.

I do like that there is plenty of volume on tap. I also like that the on ear design and tight fit do a great job of reducing outside noise. They are certainly not noise cancelling headphones but with music playing, they do a good job of drowning out external noise.

Our Verdict on Mpow Thor Headphones

Considering the price point, build quality, and features, the MPOW Thor Bluetooth headphone is an excellent choice for anyone wanting a budget pair of Bluetooth headphones. They are comfortable to wear, well built, have a good sound for the price, and have additional features such as on board controls and the ability to take calls via the built in microphone.

I also like the foldable design which makes them easy to carry. This is a great feature for those who will use the headphones on the go.

Perhaps most importantly, the Bluetooth connection is stable and easy to pair and repair. In addition, The MPOW Thor has a long battery life and is easy to recharge. If you’re looking for a quality budget pair of Bluetooth headphones, there is certainly a lot to like about this headphone from MPOW.
